Greetings!
Welcome to my QRZ page! I have been a licensed HAM since 1992. My original call was KD6IZR. Upon the death of my uncle, I applied for his call as my vanity callsign.
I am on HF quite a bit and use several different repeaters in digital mode. I am on DMR, DStar and YSF quite often. When I cannot access a local repeater, I use one of two different hotspots; the RFinder Chili Peppa or the SharkRF OpenSpot3 (I usually keep one at home and one in my mobile). I have two mobile radios, an ICOM ID-5100A and a Motorola XPR5550e, and I have several portables including a Motorola ION, RFinder B1, ICOM ID-51A Plus 2, Kenwood D74-A and a Yaesu FT-3D (as well as several others I don’t use anymore).
I operate DMR repeater 442.1325+ CC1 WB6EFW located in Ashburn, VA. The repeater is a Motorola SLR5700 MotoTRBO Repeater. It’s on the air connected directly to the Brandmeister network. For more info regarding my repeater and talkgroups visit www.WB6EFW.com. I also operate an analog/C4FM repeater on 145.185- CTCSS 103.5 which is colocated with my DMR repeater.
I am an active Air Force MARS member and the Emergency Coordinator for Loudoun County, VA ARES/RACES. For more information check out LCARES.org.
I love the hobby and look forward to hearing everyone on the air!
