Been living in the UP for only 3 years ( also in the US for only 3 years since going off to Europe via US Army in 1986 ) and living the dream. Part of that dream was someday being able to not just listen to HAM HF and VHF but also use it… So been a Technician holder since December and working on General now. Loving it and wishing I had more time – still not retired. I use an IC705 for my HF & UHF and a IC7300 for HF. Love them both. Also took advantage of the QRZ HT offer for newbies and it really got me kick-started. I use 3 seperate Antennas depending on what I do.. One is full HF, one is Discone VHF / UHF and the other is a nice mix from 2M – 40M – so a nice mix for just getting started. Hoping to do more and have more time to do it soonest and look forward to participating and assisting wherever possible.
