Member Bio

Hello and thanks for stopping by my page.  A little about me.  Like some people, my interest in two way radio started with 11 meters.  I had not been involved with 11 meters in over 40 years before I found myself with a Baofeng radio.

When I realized it was an amateur radio I thought to myself, ok this is it, get your license.  1 week later I took and passed my Technician test. Now I am hooked! I am meeting a world of wonderful people and find that the vast majority are very helpful. Passed the general exam on 1/5/2021.

My first exposure to ham radio was by a former boss, WA3RGY.  He used to tell me, “Get rid of that CB and get a real radio.”  Little did he know how that stuck with me.  I have to thank him for sparking my interest.  It took about 40 years, but here I am. Best part was I was able to make contact with him on 10 meter.

I also was fortunate to go to a high school that had the first FM broadcast radio station operated soley by high school students.  In one of my pictures you will see me with a WHHS t-shirt on & behind the mic for an anniversary show that I was invited to present.  Again, an amazing time.
