Running an FT-710 with a DX Commander (80,40,30,20,17,15,12,10)

I run Ham Radio Deluxe as my CAT solution.

Currently, my interests –

Love hunting POTA (just passed 400 parks hunted).

Have the gear I need to start activating – just gotta do it

Done a fair bit of phone

Loving FT8 – got my WAS and 100+ countries

Lately been playing with JS8CALL. I am interested in it for EMCOMM. FT8 is cool – but does not really offer any utility for any kind of robust comms….

Have started noodling about getting a directional antenna. But that is kind of a lot to unpack. Antenna, tower, rotator, etc.

A little history

Retired IT/Engineer.

Upgraded to General in Feb 2022, upgraded to Extra in April 2024

Got a 10 M radio (AT_6666 NII)  for Xmas 2023… built a simple dipole – got tired of all the branches ,

Then got an EFHW.

Recently upgraded my radio to an FT-710. Also have a little AT-778UV for 2M/70CM

Currrently running DX Commander Classic antenna
