Member Bio
As an 11 year old watching my original Elmer intently, I took the test 40 years later! (I could afford it then!!!) The ticket was in the mail, and I bought a Yeasu FT1802M 2 meter rig and began listening to all the repeater traffic, and some public safety still on VHF. KB6NU helped me pass on to General, and finally to Extra with a lot of help. The learning curve is pretty steep, and I have oh so slowly moved onward to a few of the many modes available. I enjoy HF SSB especially, but also FT8, JT65, VHF/UHF, D-Star, DMR, and monitoring. I am not a big contester. Life Member of Livingston Amateur Radio Klub in Livingston County Michigan.
I Love the hobby, and I love the K3, it is a great elegant radio. I am grateful for all the wonderful folks out there who share their time and talent so freely.
The hobby has reconnected me with old friends from High School, and opened new hobby interest
