I first got my Amateur License in Clovis, New Mexico, 1972. My first call sign was WN5HHV. My first contact ever was on an homebrew CW transceiver, 40 meters, with an XYL in Las Vegas, NV. We were both each others first contact.
I spent 25 years in the U.S. Air Force, retiring in 1989 and 25 years with the Boeing Company, retiring in 2014.
I moved from Washington State in 2018 to Yerington, Nevada
I currently operate an IC-7300 and Xeigu G90. Operating on an EFHW antenna sloper from the height of 10 feet to a slop of 4 feet. I also have a Yaesu FTm-500 for a UHF/VHF base station, a Yaesu FTM-300 for a mobile station, an FTM-6000R and Anytone 878UViii for my ARES fly away kits.
My xyl is also a licensed Amateur Operator WN3OSI.
I am a VE for ARRL and W5YI
I teach classes for individuals to prepare for their Technicians license at the local library.
