There are many ways to confirm a contact now. I, being an “old timer” at this game prefer QSL cards. Paper in hand per say. I have printed QSL cards to mail to the ones sending their QSL card. I don’t require postage, but I would like a sae (self addressed envelope). I don’t like post cards as they are usually mutilated by the post office. I,m good in the OMISS bureau and the 3905CCN bureau.
I use EQSL AG as my primary confirmation for a contact. And if you use EQSL, but don’t have the AG status, I will not QSL that contact. Why? If you don’t have AG status it does not even qualify you for any of the EQSL awards! And there are over 100 awards in the EQSL system. Its very easy to get AG staus. I’m also a county hunter. CQ Magazine does recognize AG EQSL, but not the ones not having AG status. CQ magazine does not recognize any LOTW contacts as there are no QSL’s involved.
Interesting article in the February 2020 CQ magazine on QSL’ing, EQSL and LOTW.
The “shack” is far left on the house. Antenna other than wires is a Gap Titan, somewhat visible in the picture also on the left side of house.
We now have 5 General or above amateur radio operators in Macon Cnty, Alabama! My wife took the exam and passed. She had let her license expire after a fire destroyed her home and all her radio related gear many years ago. At that time she was “WB4BOJ”, or as she says, “WB4 Bundle Of Joy”. She was issued KN4HLN by the FCC, she applied for a vanity call and got her old call sign back, WB4BOJ. She likes Bundle Of Joy better than Head Line News! I’m very proud of her. Now for the “tug and pull” for the mic!
Life is good, praise Him.
