Hi, thanks for stopping by! Glad you made it!! I’m Charlie K2CMC and have been a ham for 22 years (2000). Have always had a love for anything electronic and especially radio since the age of 11 or 12 when I was first introduced to ham radio. Ham wannabe for many years so I settled for Shortwave listening for my early years.
Had a Realistic DX-150B radio with a 66ft dipole I designed myself from an ARRL book and it was my learning portal to the world.

My radio for SWLing for many years was the Sony 2010 which I had 3 over the decades. Still have one that was salvaged from an e-waste site!

Got my ticket in 2000 and never looked back. Belong to RACES/ARES for over 22 yrs and been part of 5 ham clubs. I liked ICOM radios but prefer Yaesu these days and for a long time.

The current mobile is Yaesu FTM-400 2mtrs and 440 rig with an FT-891 for HF and ATAS 120 antenna.  The shack pictured below is outfitted with Yaesu FT-991A and FTdx10, My POTA FT891 and FTM300 for WIRESX, and FT70D for HT.  Living in an HOA means my HF antenna is a compromised compromise! HI HI.

It’s a set of portable antenna kits from Chameleon Antenna using the CHA TDL (tactical delta loop) and CHA MPAS 2.0 system. Using the CHA MPAS 17 ft vertical i have worked 88 countries (2500 QSOs) toward my DXCC, Worked all continents of the world on phone and digital modes.

It is used for my POTA activations and on the weekends when I operate from home. My antenna is set up/takedown. I’m used to it as it gets in under 15 min.

The current project is assembling a new Shack in a BOX from an Iportable Pro2 6U box. I am setting it up to work w a small pwr supply, Bioenno 20ah Lifepo pwrwerks box, and connected to my solar panels. My FT891 will take up the main space and be the workhorse radio.

Learned DMR radio and now play with Anytone HT 878 UVII and a 578 UV plus mobile DMR radios. At home i have a Bridgecom Skybridge hotspot set up for multiple DMR networks like BM, TGI, XLT and DMR to YSF crossover.
