Member Bio
My Amateur Radio journey began in 1971 when I got my Novice ticket as WN8YIB. In 1972 I upgraded to Technician and became WB8YIB, then in 1973 I passed my General. I was active in Ham Radio until about 1983.
Life circumstances took priority over my hobby. In 2014, after two divorces I became once again able to partake of Ham radio, so I got busy and started looking a rig, antenna and necessary equipment to get back on the air. I found a great local club to join, K7MVA.org. They assisted me in renewing my General, since it expired. I became KG7PJN. In 2012 my father K8MPW became a silent key, so I applied for his callsign and now I am proud to say I am K8MPW. I upgraded to Extra with the help of my local club.
Today I am quite active in Amateur Radio and MARS. This renewal in the hobby has been quite rewarding for me since I retired as an Engineer in 2019.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope to hear you on the air.
