Got into this hobby back in 2002 all because my wife bought me a Grundig scanner for Christmas in 2001. Sucker was huge! Listening to that I came across Amatuer Radio, one Operater in particular, a guy called Reg, VE3BQQ now known as Reg VK6BQQ. Ya he moved to Australia. Anyhow looked at the wife and said take it back I know what I want now! Ya you guessed it a Call Sign… Started studying and started waundering to myself what the hell am I doing this for! All this stuff I’m reading made know sense whatsoever. Anyhow got to love repetition because that was the only way I passed this course! Well finally got my license and waundered what the hell was next. Started talking to Reg and got the basic in’s and out’s of this hobby. Found myself playin around with Echolink and I know Reg hated it back in the day but he set me up in that adventure! Then don’t I decide I wanted to get into the Repeater end of it and Reg was there again getting that done for me! I tellya wherever my mind took me Reg was there. I probably peaved him off more than once! Reg was always there for me and to this day I can’t thank him enough for what I know now! Gotta love this hobby especially when it comes to building antenna’s. Not sure what I’m doin at times but I’m havin fun doin it!!!
